Monday Morning Wisdom

Via Krugman, a lovely piece of prose from Upton Sinclair which explains the persistent inability of conservative pundits to alter their views to come into line with some version of reality:

It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.

To be fair, the same thing is undoubtedly true of liberal pundits on those issues where their beliefs are not backed up by the actual world.
