For the love of all that is good and holy in the world, can we please stop talking about Ralph Nader?
You only have to watch for the first few seconds to get to the point where Nader asks if Obama will be “Uncle Sam for the people, or Uncle Tom for the big corporations.”
Look, the man is an anti-semitic racist, there’s really no doubt of this if you’ve paid attention to what he’s been saying for the last, oh, 20 or 30 years. He also, without a doubt, had a massively positive impact on this country with his consumer activism in the 70’s. However, 20 years of being mostly ignored by mostly everyone has left him a bitter man, all too willing to say outrageous things to get the attention that he once had lavished on him by the media, and, just like other completely over-the-top reflexively absurd mouth breathers (*cough* Ann Coulter *cough*), we’d all be better off if we just stopped talking about it and waited for it to go away.
Today is too good a day for me to get down about this at all, but it’s still worth pointing out…
