Howdy folks, today I write you from the den of Faithful Readers M.S. and L.J. The Triangle area has been pretty fun, although I wasted an inexcusable amount of time today trying to figure out how to download books on mp3 so I have something nice and long to listen to during the long rides in the upcoming days. Unfortunately, this appears to be nearly impossible, and for reasons that I don’t care to try and understand, my mp3 player won’t work with Audible.com, which seems to be the main website for downloading books to listen to. Too many hours spent on this problem to not have a solution.
Tomorrow morning, breakfast with old friend A.R. in Durham, and then I’m off! The exciting bit should be hitting Deal’s Gap, one of the most famous motorcycle roads in the country, on the southwest corner of Great Smoky Moutain National Park. In particular, the stretch of road known as ‘The Dragon’, which supposedly has 318 curves in an 11-mile stretch. Should be fun – wish me luck!
