No trip home is complete without being gifted new, random stuff. There’s more to show, including of course the new bike, and also a new three-season jacket with some very hefty body armor for the long trip. But here are two new toys.
First up is a new, compact digital camera, mostly so that I can begin some damn photos to record my trip. This shot is taken by the camera itself, in a mirror:
And, next up, a new fancy-pants knife for the hunting trip this fall. Note the three separate pieces – a knife, a saw (useful for getting through small-ish bones like the sternum), and a guthook, so called because it allows you to skin the animal without having to worry overly about spilling the guts, which I’ve been told is a thoroughly unenjoyable experience.
