And yet more news, as this weekend is the most reliable great movie weekend of the summer, with Pixar releasing their latest sure-to-be blockbuster, WALL-E. I have very little to offer about this, except that, like nearly every Pixar movie, it looks wonderfully beautiful and completely absurd, on its face, in commercials. And, like nearly every Pixar movie, I am sure that it will be simply fantastic. To my mind, Pixar is the surest bet going in summer blockbuster entertainment these days, much more reliable than the highly-overrated Will Smith.
If you really need to know more before heading straight out the door to see this fine piece of cinematic history, you can read the Onion A.V. Club’s review. Also, the A.V. Club had a great retrospective on the history of Pixar, which I recommend as eminently worth your time.
